The Thanksgiving holiday is a great American tradition. It’s a day frequently filled with family, football, feasting, and tryptophan-induced food comas. For many, it’s the starting line for six weeks of decking halls, lighting lights, giving gifts, and making merry. However, another cool thing about Thanksgiving is how it often puts us in a posture of reflection and gratitude. Most would agree that a little thankful introspection is good for the soul. But you probably didn’t know gratitude is good for you in a lot of other ways, too.

In what was likely an encouraging, strategic editorial choice back in 2020 (when the world was in the throes of a pandemic), an Inc. Magazine article maintained that thankfulness delivers a bountiful bevy of benefits, including better sleep, a strengthened immune system, lower stress levels, and our personal favorite–enhanced creativity. Furthermore, according to this second article from Harvard Medical School, gratitude helps us “feel more positive emotions, improve our well-being, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.” Five years post-COVID, the world continues to have no shortage of stressors, conflicts, and adversity. This week, consider treating yourself to an extra helping of gratitude. Just like dessert, there’s always room for thankfulness.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Agency 877!
