PROJECT OVERVIEW
Modern Financial is a family-run mortgage company based in Lincoln, Nebraska. The business is not new to Owner Hunter Young’s family; his father ran Midwest Mortgage in Nebraska until 2009. When Hunter decided to restart this venture over a decade later, he learned that the name Midwest Mortgage was unable to be used in Nebraska due to regulations that had been passed since his father was running the company. To address this, Hunter renamed the company to Modern Financial. In addition to following Nebraska regulations, the new name also represents the business’s dedication to streamlining the mortgage process and providing programs and applications that allow clients to easily pass information and get underwritten quickly.

Modern Financial wished to base the new identity on the Midwest Mortgage logo. They hoped to maintain elements of the previous brand, such as the recognizable roof accent, but to upgrade the Microsoft Word-like theme to something softer, cleaner, and of course modern. We experimented with various fonts, capitalization, and roof styles. The selection process was quick, and revisions never happened – the client loved the logo from the get-go and was ready to use it! From onboarding to logo approval, the entire process lasted just over two weeks.
